The Hero CPL 2019 players bid will take place on wed, 22nd May at Gfinity eSPORTS arena in London.
Every franchise owner will get the opportunity to select a maximum of six players. The team owner can also continue to have players from the 2018 team, there is no such restriction on that. The CPL 2019 players bid criteria are as follows,
- Three West Indies Cricketers
- One Foreign Player
- The Team Marquees Player 2018
- The ICC Americas Player 2018
There is a chance that Marquee players can be contracted before the bid and will be placed on the second number of draft’s list. Evin Lewis, Shoaib Malik, AB Devilliers, and Steve Smith has been signed before the auction in past. The maximum 5 players from overseas can be picked bt only four of them will be allowed in first 11.
Michael Hall the CPL’s Operation Director seemed quite confident and hopeful as talking about the auction he said:
“This year’s player draft promises to be even better than previous editions. We made the decision to stage the draft 2 months later than usual to ensure that all of our franchises have a clearer picture of the international commitments of the overseas players they may be eyeing up. We want to make sure that we provide teams and the fans with the best possible playing talent.”
